Abstract

Citizenship education has an important role in shaping the character of student in Vocational High Schools [SMK]. Strong character based on Pancasila values is crucial aspect to form a young generation with integrity and quality. This study aims to investigate the role of civics education in shaping the character of vocational students, particularly through the implementation of the divine values reflected in the first preceps of Pancasila. This study uses a qualitative approach with the methods of observation, interview, and document analysis. The data was collected from SMK students who took part in a civics education program that focused on strengthening the devine values in the first precepts of Pancasila. Data analysis was carried out by identifying student behavior patterns and attitudes related to the divine values being taught. The results of the study show that citizenship education plays a significant role in shaping the character of SMK students. The implementation of devine values in the first precepts of Pancasila makes a positive contribution of the moral a nnd spiritual development of student. Values such as faith, tolerance, and togetherness become more deeply rooted in students through a deep understanding of the concept of divinity in Pancasila. In addition, citizhenship education also helps students understand the importance of respecting difference in religion and belief in a pluralistic society. An inclusive attitude and respect for diversity are the characteristics of vocational students who receive good citizenship education.
